Dear Parents and Carers,

Updates for week beginning Monday 1st December 2025.

Tuesday 2nd - panto trip. Children who are attending only need to bring in their coats and a water bottle for the trip (plus packed lunch if they are having this.)

Wednesday 3rd - I am out of class all day for PPA and ECT time. Supply to cover.

Thursday 4th - I am out for class for a meeting from 10.15am till 10.45am. Supply to cover.

Thank you.

I have added the year group spelling lists to the bottom of this page for parents who would like to have a look.

I have also instated a Wow Word Wall! I would love children to bring in any wow words they have read so we can add them to our wall for everyone to use in their writing. Make them fantastic! Thanks.

Wow Words

Homework

This is to be completed weekly and consists of:

  • Reading at home (4 times or more per week would be amazing!)
  • Spelling Shed - children will be set weekly homework to consolidate the week's learning. They should be accessing this for the homework but also a wide range of education games based around their spelling 4 times a week.
  • TTRS - (4 times or more per week would again be brilliant!) These do not need to be much longer than 3 minutes per day - little and often! We will sometimes have times table "battles" against other classes so please encourage your children to have a go!

Percentages of children who do each of the above 4 times a week or more are read out in our Celebration Assembly each week and dojos are on offer for these so please encourage your children to have a go.

Learning

This information will be updated every half term.

During Autumn 2, we will be learning:

  • Maths - we will be focusing on addition and subtraction and also 2D and 3D shapes.
  • English - we will be looking at The Tunnel by Anthony Browne through story mapping as well as writing poetry and information texts.
  • Science - we will be exploring forces and magnets.
  • RE - we will be learning what The Nativity story teaches Christians about Jesus.
  • History - we will be learning about The Windrush Generation and their amazing contribution to British society.
  • Art - we will be using maps as a stimulus to drawing as well as creating 3D maps and displaying them in the style of an art gallery.
  • PSHE - we will be exploring health and wellbeing which will encompass ideas such as growth mindset and goal setting as well as how to have a healthy diet and body.
  • Music - we will be exploring emotions though music as well as playing instruments.
  • Computing - we will be exploring the digital world of computing systems and networks.
  • French - we will be recapping our numbers and greetings as well as learning how to give classroom based instructions and talk about Christmas.
  • PE - we will be taking on different dance styles as well as developing skills and teamwork needed for Dodgeball.

It is going to be a busy but very fun half term!

These are Monday and Thursday.

Please ensure PE kits are kept in school and earrings are removed as well as hair being tied back. Thank you.
