Current message from ECC Admissions:
Reception admissions for academic year starting in September 2021
As you may be aware, the primary school (Reception) admission round opened on 9 November 2020, for parents of children to apply for a Reception school place for the academic year that starts in September 2021.
The statutory national closing date for applications is 15 January 2021.
From 9 November 2020, applications can be made online via www.essex.gov.uk/admissions. 98% of parents in Essex applied online last year.
We do not send letters to parents about making an application. All of the application information is available on the website above.
The website www.essex.gov.uk/admissions also has a copy of the Primary Education in Essex 2020/21 booklet and the Schools Admissions Policies Directories contain details of all admission policies.
Our School's Admission Information:
Our School is a Voluntary Controlled school. This means that, in our case, we are a religious, Church of England school but the Local Authority has responsibility for the school.
However, anybody can apply for a place at our school and applications will be considered by the Local Authority following the most recent admissions criteria.
The Local Authority is also responsible for:
• Employing the staff
• Setting the admissions criteria.
In Voluntary Controlled schools, the land and buildings are normally owned by a charity. The charity appoints some of the Governors.
We follow the National Curriculum and are regularly inspected by OfSTED and we also have Anglican Church inspections on a regular basis. Please visit the relevant pages of the site for more details on our curriculum and our teaching methods.
If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
