Dear Parents and Carers,

Updates for week beginning Monday 29th June 2026

Tuesday - I will be out for PPA/ECT time from for the morning only. Supply to cover.

Thank you.

Homework

This is to be completed weekly and consists of:

  • Reading at home (4 times or more per week would be amazing!)
  • Reading records should be brought into school every day but must be in on a Thursday as this is when we count the children's reads for the week.
  • Spelling Shed - children will be set weekly homework to consolidate the week's learning. They should be accessing this for the homework but also a wide range of education games based around their spelling 4 times a week.
  • TTRS - (4 times or more per week would again be brilliant!) These do not need to be much longer than 3 minutes per day - little and often! We will sometimes have times table "battles" against other classes so please encourage your children to have a go!

Percentages of children who do each of the above 4 times a week or more are read out in our Celebration Assembly each week and dojos are on offer for these so please encourage your children to have a go.

Learning

This information will be updated every half term.

During Summer 2, we will be learning:

  • Science - we will be learning about grip strength
  • RE - we will be exploring the differences that being a Muslim makes to daily life.
  • History -we will be learning about the Stone Age
  • DT - we will be designing, making, tasting and evaluating seasonal tarts
  • PSHE - we will be looking forward to transitioning in to our new year groups
  • Music - we will be looking at different experiences through music
  • Computing - we will be capturing data and turning it into charts
  • French - we will be recapping our previous vocabulary as well as learning days of the week and months of the year.

It is going to be a busy but very fun half term!
