PE is on a Monday and Tuesday, please make sure all PE kit is in school and the children are not wearing any Jewlery.
Summary of this half terms learning.
In Autumn 1 we will covering the following:
English:
This half term we will be , focussing on the fiction book” Big Bear Little Brother”. The children will create their own adapted story suing the class model.
In Reading we will focusing on non- fiction where the children will explore topics such as Weather Patterns, Nature and animals. The fiction text for this half term is A Bear Called Paddington.
Maths: Children will recognise the place value of each digit in a two and three-digit number. They will compare, represent, estimate and order numbers using different representation. We will finish the half term looking at addition and subtraction using concrete objects and pictorial representations.
Geography: In this unit, the children will learn about climate and weather. This unit has a focus on the local area, as well as looking at the wider perspective of the UK. The children will observe, spot seasonal patterns and talk about changes by using weather related vocabulary.
PE: Our P.E lessons will be on Monday and Tuesday. All earrings must be removed and hair tied up. This half term we will be focussing on Fundamentals such as running and jumping and Net and wall games.
Art: Children learn the craft of weaving, they will be introduced to sketchbooks and they will develop their sculpting and modelling skills; children will experiment with using different objects to create interesting textures on the surface of a clay tile.
ICT: In this unit, pupils will explore Computing Systems and Networks. Children will become familiar with the term "tehnology" and how it helps us on our day to day lives.
PSHE: This term we will focus on friendships and how to make new friends, how to recognise when they feel lonely and what they could do about it.
Science: Building on their knowledge of habitats, pupils discover that microhabitats provide what minibeasts need to survive. They learn that scientists use a range of skills to answer questions and plan and carry out an experiment to find out the conditions woodlice prefer.
Music: In this unit, we ask "What does music tell us about our past?" This Unit of Work celebrates a wide range of musical styles. The clearly sequenced lessons support the key areas of the English Model Music Curriculum; Listening, Singing, Playing Composing and Performing.
RE: The children will be exploring "How do Christians belong to their faith Family?" Pupils will discuss the differences between the First Communion, Christening and Baptism.
French: This term we will learn number numbers, greetings and simple class instructions in French.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
