Welcome back to school! As we embark on the last half term of the year, remember that education is the key that unlocks countless doors of opportunity. PE Days

 

PE is on a Monday and Tuesday, please make sure all PE kit is in school and the children are not wearing any Jewlery.

Summary of this half terms learning.

In Summer 2 we will covering the following:

 

English:  This half term we will be focussing on the Narrative ” Oliver Twist”. The children will create their own adapted story using the class model.

In Reading we will focusing on non- fiction where the children will explore topics such as , Countries, the creation Myths and Heroes and Villains. The fiction text for this half term will carry on being Bill's new frock. 

 

Maths: We will start the term by learning about statistics. children will interpret and construct simple pictograms, tally charts, block diagrams and simple tables. we will finish the year learning about position and direction (including perimeter). here pupils will order and arrange combinations of mathematical objects in patterns and sequences, use mathematical vocabulary to describe position, direction and movement as well as measure the perimeter of simple 2 D shapes.  

 

History: The bronze and Iron Age Children will use common words and phrases relating to the passing of time, develop a chronologically secure knowledge and understanding of British history, address historically valid questions about change, similarity and difference and develop the use of historical terms. 

 

PE: Our P.E lessons will be on Monday and Tuesday.  All earrings must be removed and hair tied up. This half term we will be focusing on on Football and Fundamentals. 

 

DT: craft. we are designers. Pupils will be to introduced to the fundamentals of mechanical design by creating a moving monster. They will explore how mechanisms like linkages and pivots can be used to create movement in designs. Key terms such as mechanism, linkage, pivot, input, output, and evaluation are explained to help the pupils understand how different parts work together to create motion. . 

 

ICT: This unit explores Branching databases. Learners will develop their understanding of what a branching database is and how to create one. They will use yes/no questions to gain an understanding of what attributes are and how to use them to sort groups of objects. Learners will create physical and on-screen branching databases. To conclude the unit, they will create an identification tool using a branching database, which they will test by using it. 

 

PSHE: This term we will focus on how do we recognise our feelings. Pupils will learn how to recognise, name and describe a range of feelings, what helps them to feel good, or better if not feeling good, how feelings can affect people in their bodies and their behaviour and ways to manage big feelings. 

 

Science: making connections: Pupils will be able to explore the world around them and raising their own simple questions, recognise that there are different types of enquiry (ways to answer a question) and respond to suggestions on how to answer questions.

 

Music: In this unit, we ask ‘How Does Music bring us together?’ ’ as an entry point for the broad Social Theme of ‘Music Is a Peacebuilder and Friendmaker’. Aside from peace and friendship, this theme is relevant to learning topics such as kindness, responsibility, charity, diplomacy and other topics as you, the teacher, see fit.

 

RE: The children will learn about What is the Trinity. By the end of the module, pupils will be able to show awareness of the Biblical origins of Christian teachings of the Trinity, identify different types/ genres of writing within the bible, give examples of how Christians might express their beliefs about the trinity (e.g in art or literature) and identify how Christians baptism uses and expresses the doctrine of Trinity. 

 

 

French: This term we will learn about transportations, different sports and a recap of the year's learning
