Class teacher: Miss Byram
Spring Term 2 - Amazing Animals
Our topic this half term is ‘Amazing Animals’. During this topic we will be learning about the different animals and their habitats. We will be discovering about the life cycles and diets of our favourite animals.
In Maths we will be strengthening our number knowledge and exploring shapes and measurements.
In Literacy, we will be continuing to practise our letter formation as we implement our phonic knowledge into our writing. We will be focusing on our creating stories and writing fact files.
In RE, we will be learning about the Easter story.
As always, we will be getting creative and exploring as we create bug hotels, story characters and we will start to build our vegetable patch.
REMINDERS:
We ask if you could bring in a pair of wellies and a raincoat to be left at school to allow us to play and explore outside no matter the weather!
PE
Our PE day is Friday. Please ensure PE kits are kept in school and all items are labeled with their name.
HOMEWORK
Please encourage your child to read their Monster Phonic book at least 4 times each week, and to practice our focus words.
Your child will also come home with a library book, this book is to promote reading for pleasure. Please return it each Monday for your child to then choose a new book for the week.
We send our phonics focus sheets each Friday, please ensure your child brings their phonic folder to school each day.
Please also keep their reading book and record in their school bag to bring to school each morning, this way we can listen and read with your child at school too!
Thank you
