Class teacher: Miss Byram
Email: owl.class@rawreth.essex.sch.uk

Our topic this half term is ‘Ticket To Ride’.
During this topic we will be exploring the world around us, our local area and comparing this to other countries.
In literacy, we will be focusing on developing our phonic knowledge when writing. Our focus stories will be The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch, Handa’s Surprise, Mr Gumpy’s Outing.
We will be creating a packed lunch for Mr Grinling and writing our own recipes for this.
We will also be discovering food from other countries and will be making and trying these. The children will be able to re-enact these recipes in our mud kitchen or own home corner.
In maths we will be describing and sorting 2D and 3D shapes, recognising and creating patterns. We will continue to strengthen and build our number knowledge beyond 20.
In our PE lessons, we will be focusing team work as we play different games. We will be learning how to move in a safe space, follow games and encourage our team mates.
Updates for the week: 29.06.26
A supply teacher, Miss Vaughan, will be teaching all week! I am away at Danbury for the Year 6 residential.
HOMEWORK
Please encourage your child to read their Monster Phonic book at least 4 times each week, and to practice our focus words.
We send our phonics focus sheets each Monday, please ensure your child brings their phonic folder to school each day. There will also be a phonics activity sheet for your child to complete each week please.
Please also keep their reading book and record in their school bag to bring to school each morning, this way we can listen and read with your child at school too!
Please encourage your child to use their NumBots login!
Thank you
REMINDERS:
Please bring in a hat each morning as the weather is getting warmer!
We ask if you could bring in a pair of wellies and a raincoat to be left at school to allow us to play and explore outside no matter the weather!
Please ensure all belongings are labelled.

Our PE day is Friday. Please ensure PE kits are kept in school and all items are labeled with their name.
