Our topic this half term is ‘All About Me’.
During this topic we will be exploring all about ourselves and building relationships with others.
We will be discovering our interests, likes and dislikes and beginning to communicate these confidently with others. We will be focusing on how to share and listen to our friends.

In Maths we will be exploring numbers 0 – 5, practicing our number formation, counting objects and recognising their place value. We will be looking at shapes and patterns in our natural environment.
In Literacy, we will begin to practice our pencil grip and recognise the different letters that make our names, practising how to form our letters correctly. We will be using sand and lots of other messy activities to help support this by forming the different patterns to help us gain control with our fine motor skills.

In RE we will be focusing on the question of ‘Why is the word God important to Christians?’ We will be listening to different stories from the bible and creating our class prayers.

We will be getting very creative, drawing self-portraits, using play-dough to create different models of ourselves and our families.

REMINDERS:

We ask if you could bring in a pair of wellies and a raincoat to be left at school to allow us to play and explore outside no matter the weather!

PE

Our PE day will be Friday, after October half term. Please ensure PE kits are kept in school and all items are labeled with their name.

HOMEWORK
Please encourage your child to read their Monster Phonic book at least 4 times each week, and to practice our focus words.

Your child will also come home with a library book, this book is to promote reading for pleasure. Please return it each Monday for your child to then choose a new book for the week.
We send our phonics focus sheets each Monday, please ensure your child brings their phonic folder to school each day.
Please also keep their reading book and record in their school bag to bring to school each morning, this way we can listen and read with your child at school too!
Thank you smiley
