Our topic this half term is ‘People Who Help Us’.
During this topic we will be learning about people who help us, our community and how to stay healthy and safe. We are hoping to arrange some visits from people within the community.

In Maths we will be exploring numbers 10-20, adding groups together and finding the total. We will be continuing to look at shapes and space.
In Literacy, we will be practising our handwriting, forming our letters as we write captions and labels to our drawings and stories. We will be focusing on non-fiction texts.

In RE, we will focusing on celebrations around the world and learning stories from the Bible.

In PE, we will be focusing on basic gymnastic skills through the topic of 'animals and their habitats'. We will explore creating shapes, balances, and jumps and begin to develop rocking and rolling.

Updates for the week: 02.02.26
Monday - Mr Taylor will be covering for the day, this is for PPA and subject leadership.

HOMEWORK
Please encourage your child to read their Monster Phonic book at least 4 times each week, and to practice our focus words.

Your child will also come home with a library book, this book is to promote reading for pleasure. Please return it each Monday for your child to then choose a new book for the week.
We send our phonics focus sheets each Monday, please ensure your child brings their phonic folder to school each day.  There will also be a phonics activity sheet for your child to complete each week please.
Please also keep their reading book and record in their school bag to bring to school each morning, this way we can listen and read with your child at school too!
Thank you smiley

REMINDERS:

We ask if you could bring in a pair of wellies and a raincoat to be left at school to allow us to play and explore outside no matter the weather!

PE

Our PE day is Friday. Please ensure PE kits are kept in school and all items are labeled with their name.
