Next Week WB: 8.12.25
This week, the Year 6 children will be doing practice SATs. Year 5 will continue their learning in the hall while tests are carried out and will be supported by Mrs Burridge and Mrs Tate, (please see timetable posted below).
We are aiming to have our PE on Tuesday and Wednesday as normal, but there is a possibility we may have to go outside so please make sure you all have your jumpers and joggers/leggings just in case!
Thursday - Mrs Umfreville will be out of class all day, supply to cover. We will be having Singing Assembly in Class with Yr 5 to rehearse our Christingle songs.

Class percentages for those who achieve 4 reads and 4 days on TT Rockstars will be read out in Celebration assembly. Don't forget, you will get 4 house points for getting your four reads, EdShed and TTRS days!
SATs Meeting 15/10/25
It was great to see those of you who attended. Here is the powerpoint that I showed you at the session. Feel free to ask me questions about - you can catch me after school in the playground or email the class email address.
Science: Space and the Solar System. We will be investigating Earth and other planets in our Solar system. We will be also investigating the effect the motion of our moon and planets have on our daily lives.
RE: How has religion influenced art and music? We will be looking at how art and music have been influenced by religion though the creative arts associated with Christianity, Hinduism and Islamm.
History: The Shang Dynasty. We will be investigating when and where the Shang Dynasty occured. We will be looking at the evidence that it existed and important developments tthat took place during this time.
DT: Mechanical Systems - make a pop-up book. We will be learning the skills involved in creating a pop up book and adapting out products for a target audience.
PSHE: Healthy lifestyles. We will be investigating the way our choices can positively affect our lifestyle, including those that involve sleep, exercise, food and relationships.
PE: Dance. We will be learning how to link rhythm with movement and use our bodies to express different emotions while developing strength and balance. (Although most of our lessons will take place indoors, please make sure you have outdoor PE shoes and warm clothing - we sometimes have to swap to using the outside area at short notice and may have to change our focus.)
ICT: Games and Programming. We'll be looking at how to input variables and control simple characters in games. We will learn how to enter a score and organise backgrounds.
French: Our class and school. We will be learning how to describe different classroom items. We will be applying our knowledge of French grammar to building sentences.
Music: We will be continuing to learn the key elements of pitch, dynamics, timbre, texture structure and rhythm. We will also begin learning songs for our Christmas events at Rayleigh Lights and the Christingle Service.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
