Another thank you for everyone in Eagle Class - so many children are continuing to give their best effort in all our subjects - we are very proud of you!

Please can you ensure that your child has their PE kit in school every day, especially on Mondays and Thursdays.  PE is an important part of the National Curriculum and without their kits, children are unable to take part. 

Monday -   PE in the afternoon as usual.

Tuesday - There will be a special assembly in the afternoon from the Fire Service about firework and Halloween safety. 

Thursday - PE in the afternoon as normal. 

Friday - Mrs Umfreville out of class at 11.30. Supply to cover for the afternoon. 

Homework  

Home work will be set for both year groups.  Each child will be expected to complete four reads a week, four attempts at TTRS and 4 attempts at spelling practice on EdShed.  They all have logins in the front cover of their reading record books. 

If they complete these tasks, they will be issued with 4 house points per task. 

Autumn 1

Science: Classifying - Big and Small.  We will be looking in detail at different types of living things and their characteristics.  We will be investigating why Scientists have invented systems to sort living things. 

RE: Is believing in God reasonable?  We will be looking at different viewpoints regarding the existance of God and whether or not there is a reasonable rationale for these beliefs. 

Geography:  What is life like in the Alps?   We will be investigating Life in the Alps and comparin it to aspects of life in Britain.  We will look at Physical and Human features of the area and how they are impacted by the climate. 

Art: Emotion and Movement - We will be looking at how movement and emotion can be expressed through form, line and colour using a variety of techniques and materials. 

PSHE: We will be looking at 'Why are healthy relationships important?' and covering some basic self care ideas.   

PE: Hockey.  We will be looking at dribbling, passing and scoring, as well as defence and attack strategies. 

ICT:  Networks and Systems.  We will investigating how computers speak to each other via networks and systems.  We will be finding out how emails and other messages find their way across the internet. 

French: :Sport and the Olympics.  This term, we will be looking at the French words for different sports and how to describe them using the correct grammar. 

Music:  Composition and notation - we will be learning how composition can affect how a piece of music sounds and how musicians use notation to communicate their intentions.
