TT Rockstars

During Autumn Two, we will be learning:

  • Maths - we will be focusing on multiplication and division before moving onto fractions.
  • English - we will be looking at the fable 'The Fox and the Raven.' We will be learning the fable through actions before drawing a story map and then creating our own fables. We will also be exploring performance poetry.
  • Science - Our topic is "Materials: properties and change". We will be determining the hardness, transparency and conductivity of a variety of different materials before identifying and describing reversible and irreversible changes,
  • DT - We will be focusing on electrical systems, identifying electrical products and explaining why they are useful. We will explore the features of a torch and describe what makes a torch successful before designing and creating a functioning torch with a switch.
  • History - Our topic is "Crime and Punishment". We will explore how and why crime and punishment has changed over time. We will use a variety of sources of evidence to develop our knowledge and understanding of the different time periods. We will look in detail at the suffragette movement as well as how the job role of the police has changed over time.
  • Computing - We will be creating media, looking closely at audio production. We will identify the input device and output devices required to work with sound  digitally. We will discuss the ownership of digital audio and the copyright implications of duplicating the work of others. Finally, we will produce a podcast, which we will edit and add multiple tracks and open and save the audio files.
  • PSHE - Our topic is "Health and wellbeing". We will start by identifying and sharing how we can look after our teeth, recapping what we learnt in our Science lessons last half term. We will then move on to focus on discussing what relaxation feels like and to create some relaxation techniques. We will link these techniques to growth mindset before highlighting our individual strengths and weaknesses.
  • RE - We will be exploring the questions "How has belief impacted on music and art through History?"
  • Music - We will explore purpose, identify and expression in music as well as learn our songs for Christingle/Christmas production.
  • PE - Dance and Parkour.

PE Days - Tuesday and Wednesday. PE kits to be kept in school, no jewellery allowed and hair to be tied back.
