What we do
The Friends of St Nicholas School PTA brings together parents, carers and school staff to raise much needed funds for our wonderful small school. We do this through organising a wide variety of fun and enjoyable events and initiatives throughout the school year for both the children and adults alike. These can range from school discos, Christmas bazaars, summer fetes and Mother’s and Father’s Day sales, to Easter raffles and dinner and dance nights.
Each year we try to organise a range of new and exciting events different to the previous year, which is why it’s always great to have new members on board from year to year to bring fresh ideas and ways of thinking.
The Committee hold an Annual General Meeting at the beginning of the school year and then meet up on a regular basis as and when events are approaching. These can be day time or evening meet-ups and usually involve a "cuppa and a catch-up" as well, adding to the great social aspect of the group.
What we fund
It’s really rewarding to be able to buy and invest in things that the school and the children really need to enhance their learning, development and enjoyment during their time at St Nicholas.
Here are just a few we have funded to date:
"Easyfundraising"
We also take part in "Easyfundraising" which helps us to raise lots of money simply by using https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ every time an online purchase is made via a wide range of retail websites. The money raised goes straight to the school at no extra cost to you! Simply visit http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/stnicholasrayleigh for more information and to sign up.
How to get involved
If you would like to get involved in any way we would love to hear from you – whether it’s helping to organise events, volunteering your time on the day or donating much needed funds. The more members we have, the more events and initiatives we can organise for everyone and the more money we can raise for our children.
Just pop into the school and ask about us or visit our page on Facebook or email us at friendsofstnics@gmail.com to find out more.
